Hmm,

I know that some of the equipment made in the past by Bush was less than
Fi, but I don't feel that strongly about it. Now if it was against Bose
I may feel differently...

A genre of Australian music has evolved from the original celtic hyms and tunes
of the pioneers and which is now augmented by the occasional dijereedo, an
indigenous instrument. Bass is played with broomstick used to pull a piece of
light guage fence wire to to an old tea chest, and percussion is provided by
'largerphone', which is a pair of crossed batterns with beer bottle lids nailed
on so they are loose, so its pumped on the floor to provide some percussion
rythym, a sort of jingle stick. Usually, other musos with fiddles guitars, and
banjos provide backing for tunes like 'click go the shears', or even 'watzing
matilda'. Now my journo friend found out that someone, in their artful wisdom
had sent an "authentically Australian" bush music band to provide entertainment
and background music to the evening sooiree held in honour of the distinguished
guest, one Mr Bush. It appears that Mr Bush, who sometimes gets Australia
confused with Austria, approached the band after they'd set up, and asked,
" Aw hey guys, what sort of music do you play?"
Band leader replies, laconically, " Bush music ."
Dubya asks " Really, and what sort of band are you?"
The leader replies, "A bush music band", with a blank stare....
Dubya goes, "Ah huh....", and strolls off, very puzzled,
and I think the band is still laughing......
