I have a Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 1100 receiver which was working fine. I
turned on one day and it now produces a loud hum on both channels but I can
hear the programme underneath.

Any suggestions? Smoothing capacitor, rectifier? Or something nasty? It's
about 1972 I think.

Probably.

Any suggestions as to who in Hampshire UK might be able to fix?

Try Diverse Devices in Southampton. (I have no connection with them,
but they do specialise in old equipment.)
