Default B&O receiver hum problem - suggestions please?

I have a Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 1100 receiver which was working fine. I
turned on one day and it now produces a loud hum on both channels but I

can
hear the programme underneath.

Any suggestions? Smoothing capacitor, rectifier? Or something nasty? It's
about 1972 I think.

Any suggestions as to who in Hampshire UK might be able to fix?

Ta all

Mike

Fair bet on the smmothing cap(s) - at that vintage they're probably well
dried out.

Sad thing is that if they are PCB mounted you may have much difficulty
getting a replacement that will fit.
