580s are more efficient, most other differences are AFAIK cosmetic.


Both the HD580 and HD600 provide 97dB SPL for 1mW at 1kHz. No
difference in efficiency. There are subtle differences, however: the
drivers in the HD600 are more closely matched, and the screen over
each ear is metal instead of plastic which reduces flex a little and
therefore dampens a bit more resonances.

The sonic differences are slight, but once you get into this area of
performance, such slight differences do cost a little bit.
