To Stewart (Pinkerton) - will you take a look at the Webpage and ask
yourself the 'should you be here?' question and let me know (direct) - I
know you've got a deck and all that, but you ain't hardly a 'vinyl
enthusiast' are you....?

It's your website, but I'm happy to stay on there. Despite my
well-known opinions on the *relative* merits of CD and vinyl, vinyl is
certainly capable of reproducing great music. I'm also an experienced
vinyl user and tweaker, and I'm always interested in minimising the
fundamental awfulness of the medium. :-)

Besides, other vinyl enthusiasts might be interested in seeing a
decent vinyl setup, rather than the usual Linns....... :-)

You are a 'one' Pinky - how did I just *know* you would not see/ignore the
'direct' in my post or did you know I would hang around long enough to see
your reply? (At least give me credit for the latter....)

I generally post replies to newsgroup posts. So yes, I ignored it.

I'm also happy to retain your page because a) it is a good one, b) you've
got some good (if a little bit 'big dick') kit,

Nope, the Duettas simply sound better (to me, in my room, yada yada)
than anything else I've heard, while the Krell is one of the very few
amps that can drive them very well (3-ohm load!) - and cost less than
a grand used.

c) your knowledge and
experience is a valuable asset when you are not trying too hard to be a
'digi****',

Better than being a vinyl fetishist, shurely? :-)

d) your OT jerks can be an interesting break from the norm. In
fact the 'schizophrenia' exhibited by you on the subject of vinyl and vinyl
replay has always left me somewhat mystified.....

I like the 'warm' sound of vinyl, but I'm very aware of it's technical
problems. No schizophrenia in pointing out those deficiencies to ****s
who insist that it must be 'better' than CD just because *they* happen
to like the sound.

(Incidentally, if you wanted the files to create your own Website (allowing
tweaking etc. as and when you want) and me just carry the link to it, I
would be happy to send them to you.) You will, however, *have* to let me
know direct (or possibly on ukrav) as, once I see this posted, I'm outta
here.

Pity, ukra needs audio enthusiasts.

BTW, hope you had a good holiday - it was hot enough here to have all the'
valvies' rush out and buy SS amps! My own Technics SE-A2000 number was for a
totally different reason altogether - naturally!.... ;-)

Yup, we were sweltering in 35-40 degrees for the first week, just a
bit *too* hot for me!

(I suppose the 'stick of rock' aint gonna happen this time either!)

Sorry, but if you'd like to drop in to work, there's a big box of
'Greek Delight' on the desk by the door! :-)

That's it - gone now. Get that door for me, would ya?

Come back, all is forgiven! :-)
