Default What would you buy?

But then you can hear the difference in cables. So that explains it.

Careful - there are people who claim to tell the difference in solder.

"The standard leaded Kester (Sn63/Pb37 Product 24-6337-0027 .031 22swg or
Sn62/Pb36/Ag02) with the "44" core sounds good too, but with a slight loss of
resolution compared to the Kester SN95. My favorite solder with the "44" core
is Kester's Sn95/Ag05 lead free silver solder. My favorite solder with the
IA-423 is Johnson's OR-120 organic core version. (Their "rosin" version is
awful, BTW.) Most other solders create a "brittle" or bright sound because most
rosins perform poorly in regard to high-fidelity interface. If the system is
slightly bright, the Kester I mentioned will warm it up a tad. If the system is
either warm or accurate, I'd go with the IA-423 Organic Core"
