My recollection is that one review found the 250 to show some instabilty
with some loads. This surprised me as the valve amps were well designed in
this respect, hence it has stuck in my mind. Can't recall anything else at
present. Also bear in mind that such reviews often contain errors of
'fact', so even if I am recalling correctly, the 'instability' may have
been due to an error by the reviewer.

I have a copy of a review by Hirsch-Houck labs (from March 75!). They
seemed to rate the amp as the "dogs danglies", although there's no
mention of trying nasty loads.
