Your amps look very nice Mr Turner, but lets face it
anyone can make themselves a GainClone for £50 and get
something just as good and with the added bonus of being
able to tweak it themselves very easily.

A GainClone is probably not a good sound-alike match for a
tubed amp.

If nothing else the source impedance of the GainClone is too
low to produce the *tube bigot manditory* audibly varying
frequency response with speaker load.

Putting a 0.5-4 ohm wirewound power resistor in series with
the speaker leads will make the GainClone a better
sound-like match for a tubed amp.

Based on current commercial practice with microphone
preamps, the addition of a number of strategically-placed
yellow and blue LEDs would also help with the *tweaked*
GainClone's illusion of "sonic warmth".

The final stage would be to add a heating element to the
*tweaked* GainClone.

Some enterprising individual will probably bring this idea
to market at some time in the future. I'm guessing that his
nationality will be Chinese, as they can be clever and
enterprising folk.
