Biamping with an active crossover, and bypassing the speaker's
internal crossover, can indeed make a difference. So-called 'passive'
biamping using the speaker crossover makes no sense at all, unless
you're using a particularly weedy amplifier which doesn't have enough
current to drive the speakers properly.

In this case, it makes a lot more sense to trade up to one decent
amplifier, than to buy another weedy one!
