I've heard the non-active version, and they sounded fine, with plenty
of bass for the size. Each speaker will need access to a mains plug I
would have thought, and the controls don't look too accessible.
I'd go for a second hand ebay integrated amp (NAD, Rotel, Mission,
Pioneer) and some named (Tannoy, Mission, NAD) bookshelf speakers -
cheaper, more versatile, and possibly a better sound.
Cheers Rob, thanks for the tips. There are power sockets both sides. Will
take a look at some of the names you mention too. I was drooling over the
Neutron IV's from AVI with an amp pack on the back. Seemed just about
perfect till i looked at the price...
