Two things happen with my bedroom setup smack on 3 am: The standby
light on my little digital telly starts flashing to denote that it is
downloading the EPG and at exactly the same moment my FM tuner/hifi
amp goes very quiet (but not completely silent). It goes back up to
normal when the light stops flashing on the telly. Both the tuner and
the telly are connected to the same (Denon SS) amp at 'line level'
otherwise there is no communication between the two bits of kit.

Anybody got a clue what is going on?

Indeed, very odd! Does the tuner mute if the TV is unplugged? If not, I
wonder if the tuner has some sort of mute activation thing going on?


OK, I unplugged the telly and the sound from the tuner did not diminish as
the 'EPG time' came and went. I plugged the telly back in well after the
normal 'EPG time' and the sound level went down for a couple of seconds and
then recovered. No EPG/Stand By light flashing.

More stumped now than I was before!!
