There is a popular theory that unwanted CDs.....

:-)

....make good bird-scarers.....??

Well, sorry to explode another widely-held *belief* about CDs, but the truth
is they actually *don't* - after the brief, initial reaction, when the birds
are greatly impressed by the 'low noise floor' and stupendous 'dynamic
range', rinky-dink convenience factor &c., they appear to become bored by
them and start to ignore them...

Sound familiar...??

LOL!! :-)

They do if you sharpen the edges and throw them at the little buggers!

Quite possibly, but should you need it, I have proof that the 'static
method' certainly doesn't work - see these pix:

Note that in the immediate area of the CDs there is a general lack of
development with low or zero growth and widespread evidence of poor plant
health, compared with the area *furthest away* from the CDs....

Now, if that is not due to attention of birds who are obviously not fazed by
the presence of the disks, I can only put it down to the fact that even
*plants* don't like CDs.....??

(And you can't argue with Nature......???)

:-))

You're obviously using the wrong CDs.

Try something by The Stray Cats. That might work!
: )

They do once you learn how to throw them to cause maximum damage.

Asitappens, it was bone dry under the eaves but it's a good point. Thank
you.

Gone now - see this little pic I just done for you:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/Path.JPG

Here's the main point of the pic though - note the new grass in the
sunlight. It's less than two weeks old - to ensure success with lawn
repairs, put your grass seed in the freezer for a few days before you sow
it. The temperature change triggers germination...

That's a good tip. I need to do some re-seeding. Maybe getting a bit late
now though.

No, now is almost perfect if you are quick enough (in the next week or two -
at the outside) but I can't offer you a *guarantee*....!! ;-)

(Delete the word 'ensure' in my above post and substitute 'increase your
chances of'....)
