Default Sony CDX-4180R in a 95 Escort


If your powering up your head unit at home i presume you are using a
transformer, this may be your problem. The tranformer may give you the
correct voltage but it may not supply enough current and this causes
your unit to work in standby (drawing very little current) but not when
you power it up. You should use a larger transformer (1000ma?). Hope
this helps.
