Default RDS time sync problem with Kenwood KDC-PSW9527

Hi All,

I've just replaced my 2 year old Kenwood Z838W with the new
KDC-PSW9527 head unit. (My car is a 2002 Toyota Celica 190 - the Z838
was a replacement for the standard Sony double-DIN
CD/cassette/receiver.)

The 9527 has a problem. Try as I might, I cannot get the clock to sync
with the RDS time signal. It mentions in the manual that this may take
"3-4 minutes", but I've sat with it tuned to all 4 BBC national
stations and to the BBC local station for 10 minutes each - nothing at
all.

I have "SYNC" set to on in the menu, and I've checked the aerial
connection. Radio reception is otherwise fine, and all other RDS
services (station name, traffic info, radio text) work as they should.

The Z838 had no problems with RDS clock time sync, connected to the
same loom and the same aerial. I've tried resetting the HU and
cleaning the aerial connection.

Has anyone got ny bright ideas? The HU is great in all other respects,
but given the price it was (!), I expect the CT service to work.

Many thanks for any advice,

Cheers,

Simon
