Default RDS time sync problem with Kenwood KDC-PSW9527

Hi All,

I've just replaced my 2 year old Kenwood Z838W with the new
KDC-PSW9527 head unit.

All you need to say, this post is so funny as most of the rest you type is
tripe.

As opposed to *everything* you typed being tripe, but anyway...

WTF does the make and model of the car have to do with the symptoms you
describe?

Hmmm - interesting. I see from previous posts on this newsgroup that
you regard yourself as something of an expert in ICE, and yet it
hasn't occurred to you that in a problem with an RDS feature, the
*aerial* may be relevant...

naturally you have changed your head unit and this feature is not
functioning, naturally the symptom is specific in this case to the head unit
not the car in any fashion, the clock time is derived from the 57Khz Fm
sideband rds data, if you read the manual this is user definable as to
whether this is implemented or not.

And if you read my post (which apparently you didn't on account of it
being "tripe"), you would see that I had described switching this
feature on and off. Kenwood call it "SYNC" in their menus. I was
asking if there was any other setting, specific to this head unit,
that I had missed, before I returned it as faulty.

And for the record, you quoting jargon such as "57kHz Fm sideband rds
data" may impress some people with how much you know, but (to use your
own words) in the context of a reply to my question, it is "tripe".
(And irrelevant - which is what you accused me of being. Ah, the
irony!)

For what it's worth, I have worked as an electronics and software
designer for the past 12 years, including working on the internal
design of RDS radios. I almost certainly, therefore, know far more
about them than you do, so your patronising tone is a little
misplaced...

As an aside the current Celica s are ****e comparedto the previous model,
the exterior looks nice enough but the interior is drab , compare it with
the MR2 just my opinion.

"Just your opinion"? Sorry - wouldn't that make it irrelevant, and
"tripe"? But, since you asked me to, I'll compare the Celica to the
MR2 :
a) the Celica 190 is faster 0-60
b) the Celica 190 has a higher top speed
c) the Celica has more room for luggage
d) the Celica has more leg and head room for the driver
e) the Celica is more comfortable and quieter

Given that, only a hairdresser would choose the MR2. Is that what you
are? Could explain the name, I guess...

Now, do you have any *real* advice, or are you just trolling and
wasting my time?

S.
