I'm just trying to decide out of curiosity where the 160mm is taken -

best I
can do is from the far left to the far right of the screw holes..?

I've actually just taken another look at your image, and I can't quite
tell, but it looks like it might have 4 fixing screws?

Yes, that's right.

If so, then
it's not going to be a 160mm (which usually have 3), but more likely a
165mm, which isn't especially surprising as the car's effectively a
Vauxhall Belmont (which used 165mm eurosize)

Ok, so 165mm (6.5") is probably the size I'm looking for.

Rather than worrying about the speaker size, I'd measure the mounting
hole. A 130mm mounting hole equates to a 160cm (usually Japanese and
American) driver, and 150mm equates to a 165mm (eurosize) speaker.

Sony's database lists 160mm speakers for the car, but a 153mm cutout,
so I'm not thinking they've probably got things wrong!

Ah right..
Well, that gives me even more info, and I'll keep hold of your post and
refer to it when I pop the grilles off next.

Thanks muchly for your time Jon - much appreciated.

Mick.
