Thinking of this. Focal Access 165A front, Focal Access 130AC rear. Most of

Are the Polyglass range really worth the extra money? Because I could go for
the Polyglass 165 fronts and get cheapo kenwood / pioneer / alpine /
infinity coaxes for the rear doors...

Head unit is alpine 9812RB, sub is an 8" self powered sony.

I think it depends on how well insulated the cabin is as alot of the
time, external noise such as wind/engine/tyre means you can't hear the
difference.

I've got the same problem as you but in reverse. The Alfa uses 13cm
components in the dash, and 17cm jobs in the back shelf. The front ones,
despite being standard fit Alfa jobbies are actually pretty good, no bass,
but good for imaging because of their positioning and the well sited
tweeters. The ones in the rear are utter crap, but it looks like I've got to
remove the rear seat and shelf just to change the bloody things.

Don't know what to go for personally, but I'm looking at the Nakamichi
SP-S6500 for the shelf.

where are you getting your nak stuff from? spec on the 6500 seems good and
the size would fit my front doors nicely - what's the price??

The 552 would fit my back doors too...

Bought the head unit off some mad bloke on ebay, but he seems to be able to
get loads of other gear, he's bloody cheap, the stuff's all new in the box,
and if it's fallen off a lorry it's had a soft landing. Not the Hong Kong
import gear either, UK spec with the optional RDS, which is nice.

The speakers will probably come from my mate who runs a warehouse that just
deals in car audio stuff. If I don't go for Nak, I'll go for something
similar, maybe some top spec Harman Kardon gear. He runs mainly Alpine and
HK stuff in his Lexus, at the moment he's got around £20k worth of gear in
it, and as he's the main installer and his car is a sound off "quality" set
up, he pays bugger all for it. Hence me getting a £300 Ground Zero amp new,
in the box, for £70...

What HU do you have? I had a Nak CD500 earlier this year well 3 of them as they
froze up randomly when playing CDs. Still have a 400 in the mini.

Nice though Nak head units are, I've never seen them as quite worth the
money over Alpine. Only alpine and nakamichi put decent amps in the head

CD300. Seems ok. Nice quality and was cheaper than buying a half decent
Alpine.

Must have been a cracking deal - I got my alpine for 199 quid (9812RB) -
couldn't find a CD300 for under 269 - maybe didn't look hard enough!
