Now if you want real Jazz etc a digital satellite receiver and an
aerial, 60 cm dish will do

Don't suppose any of those satelite stations have a web stream?

Well, I'm enjoying things like "ISIRTA" and "The Navy Lark" on BBC7. :-)

Mind you, audiophile quality sound is not a pre-requisite for these -
just sounding somewhat better than my decades-old reel-to-reel tapes.
:-) The Angus Prune Tune sounds OK to me via freeview.

Did you hear the recent re-make of Under Milk Wood, using the original
tapes of Richard Burton as the narrator? He sounded as if he were recorded
yesterday, instead of near 50 years ago.

Hot if done right! Like you said, 256k radio sounds good, the same quality
could be ~100k using modern compression, easy streamable with broadband
internet.

Unfortunately I didn't record it, but I'm sure it will be out on CD etc
and will be well worth buying - it was superb in every way.
