Default FS: Mission 752s anyone?

I used to have a pair of these. They retailed for £499 throughout

their
life
as HFW says

OK, I got my figure from the shop they came from - ought to have bloody
known! (But academic anyway - these are a bloody lot of speaker for not

much
more than the price of a pair of current '5 star cheapo' bookshelf
offerings!)

and they were terrific - they had an enormous image, were
incredibly easy to drive and went VERY loud if you wanted! Used them

on
an
Incatec (sp?) Claymore then an Audiolab 8000s for a bit and then an

AMC
valve amp (which was far more fun then the Audiolab, if slightly

unruly).

The 752 was replaced by the, IMO, inferior 752freedom which had a

fattened
up bass and softer top end. They inverted the drivers, used a textile
tweeter and drilled another hole in the back of the cabinet.

The only holes in the back of these appear to have been made by rats.

(Only kidding! - They are actually very tidy indeed, with no scarring or
other damage at all, from what I can see.)

They also did
away with the sloping cabinet too.

These slope a bit (but not like in the ****ty picture below)......

If you were local to Manchester or could deliver I'd take 'em for

£200-£220
(depending on condition) as I'm just about to move into a new house

and
will
need yet another pair of speakers!

Well, as I'm on £0.00 here, you'll forgive me if I say I'm not in a good
position to help (other than hold the speakers for anyone who wanted

them)!

They are actually only available to me at that price on condition that I

buy
the Dynaudios at considerably more money! (I am looking for 2 pairs of
speakers, as it happens.) They are desperate to shift the Dynies - see

my
earlier post about saddling themselves with speakers they can't sell in

here
in Turnip Town - only to ****s like me and one other!

I'll probably hook 'em up to a nice little Audio Innovations Series 400

(12
wpc EL84 valve amp) I've got tomorrow and see how they go. If they sound

as
good as I expect them to. I might just hide 'em away for now (or even

keep
them where they are - see 'em next to the 'Fag Packet' Dynies he

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keit...wospeakers.jpg )

(I love 'Show N Tell' - I wish more people than just me and Ronnie Mack

did
it - mebbe it's because I'm a nosey git.....!!!)

)
Well if you find yourself encumbered by these and want a quick sale, drop

me
a line!

Ah..... Just got back from the shop having returned *both* pairs of
speakers!

The, er, 'hunt' continues.......

:-)
