Default Powered Speakers for a Media Player

I want to site my Netgear MEdia Player awayfrom my current seperates so need
to by some powered speakers. I am after people's recommendations. All i can
find is eithe rlittle PC speakers or ugly DJ Monitors/

Any ideas?

I'd suggest spending a few quid on a second hand amp from your local 'free
ads' paper and some proper speakers. I picked up a Technics amp and
Wharfedale speakers for less than £30 all in - sounds fine hooked up to a PC
;-)

I am sure that it would sound great but small footprint is key for me. I
want to be able to move it all outside as well

If you can find a pair, try Cambridge Soundworks Creative Labs SBS52s.
These are excellent little speakers whose performance belies their
size.
