Anyone aware of anywhere in the UK I can have an item of 240v/50Hz
audio equipment converted to 120v/60Hz?

In general you can go from 50 to 60Hz with no problems (some
turntables may disagree with me), and for the voltage, probably the
easiest thing you can do is invest in a transformer.

If you don't want to do that, and the equipment doesn't have a voltage
selector switch, then it is probably easier to buy a new one than have
it converted.

If the item is sold in countries that use that voltage, it might be
possible to simply change the transformer with the correct one from the
makers. Or a substitute one. Might help if you said what it was.
