Default Audio recording with Nero

"Mike Saunders" wrote in message

You can find software such as Winamp that does it in software -
faster and more accurately.

CDs are not recorded, either. They are generally transcribed to the
PC using sofware like CDEX and EAC

Note that I
am playing the sound through an external amplifier.

Well I have at last found the problem. In my ignorance I has assumed
that the Wave Editor device settings needed to be set to my soundcard
chip (SoundMax) Of course this is too obvious

In fact when I select Wave Mapper (whatever that is) it then records
fine

The wave mapper is supposed to route recording and playback to the preferred
devices set in the control panel multimedia applet.

Im not sure what you mean in your post but all I want to be able to do
is to record either CD's, Internet Radio or LP.S Tapes etc Is this
the best way or what other options do you recommend

Go to google, search for, download, and install CDEX and EAC. One or both
will work for you. See if you like how they work better than using your
sound card.

You will still need to record LPs and tapes through your sound card.

Mike
