Why is that so hard to believe?

I claim to have a degree in Electroacoustics, received in 1992.

University of Salford.

Do you believe me?

Does it matter?

Some well established universities award BAs (for first degrees) whatever
the subject studied. e.g. I have a BA in Natural Sciences.

I've no idea; wouldn't you be better off writing and asking him of you want
to know?

IIRC, Arny earned a living as a VM systems programmer in the 1980s. We both
used to participate on VMSHARE. Of course in those days, if you had a
computing technical support job, you had to know what you were doing ....

Just one of the many factual errors in that article.

My degree is a BS. BAs in engineering are pretty rare, at
least in the US. The reason should be obvious.

I also did almost all of the work for a MSE, but the birth
of a son intruded, and I never got back to it.

Which Uni was it at ?

Oakland Unversity - Rochester, Michigan.

IIRC, Arny earned a living as a VM systems programmer in

the 1980s.

That would be correct. It wasn't that unusual for engineers
to end up doing IT in those days. For openers, when I got my
BSE, degrees in IT were a fairly new thing.

We both used to participate on VMSHARE.

Indeed. I also made a number of formal presentations at
Share and co-wrote a number of Share requirements.

Of course in those days, if
you had a computing technical support job, you had to know

what you
were doing ....

Interesting link - and Arny spelled "Arnie" :-)

Interestingly enough, in contrast to Stewart Pinkerton's claim, Arny
writes:

"One of the things Arny discovered is that good power amplifiers are
hard to distinguish if you pass a signal through once, though
if you pass a signal through a relatively small amount of times
the difference are detectable. Arny collected data on five amplifiers
within an 8-hour day and claims to have achieved a positive result
as to their differences"

I didn't write that.

Just bad writing.

So didn't you say that either?
What *were* you saying?

The discussion looked interesting. Is a full transcript
