Professor Stanley Unwin, was a BBC engineer long
before he became an entertainer, so he should know
a quality format when he sees one. On the subject of
vinyl, he wrote:

Believe me Iain the Iain, nobody appreciates a humourous post more than I do
(they are rare enough as it is, in this group) but I gotta say it - Stanley
Unwin joins this list of 'Comedy Turns' that I found hilarious just the *one
time* and which get on my tits now:

The Navy Lark
Round The Horne
The Goon Show
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Little Britain
Anything with John Cleese in it..

Shows that crack me up *every* time I see them a

Dad's Army (the best ever, IMO)
'Allo 'Allo
Stella Street
Anything with Ronnie Barker in it (to varying degrees)....

There are many others in both categories that do not spring immediately to
mind....

;-)

No comment! ;-)

Anyway - **STOP PRESS**...

My 'Funniest Person on TV' has just become Anne Robinson (who mercilessly
rags the contestants on some quiz show) - I've just seen most of a proggie
showing 'The Best Of' or summat (I was cleaning my brushes, so I didn't see
all of it) - feckin' priceless!! :-)

(And a wee bit cute in a 'Wicked Witch, it'll end in tears' kinda way, at
times....?? :-)

She must be one of the *richest* people on TV.
Her show, "The Weakest Link" to which she owns the rights,
is shown, in local versions, in 22 of the 25 EU countries.
Good luck to her, it's a popular format:-))

Ooh, OK - that's more than a 'wee bit' cute then, isn't it? :-)

I haven't seen the programme proper, but the snips I saw just now were an
absolute hoot!!

(*Very* witty ****take - the best kind of humour on TV!! :-)

Faulty Towers was probably the best sit com ever written.
