Hello Andrew, you'd better disguise your writing style a bit more
than that before using one of your many aliases.
Is there a list of Andrew André Jute McCoy Glassgray's aliases?
Or should we just assume that anyone who agrees with him is him?
Is "Designing and Building Special Cars" as bad as everyone says it is?
Frankly no, it's not as bad as all that, but it is simply a brief, and
rather self-opinionated (surprise surprise!) introduction to the
subject.
For anyone who is interested in the subject I recommend you try to find
a copy of the old (early 1960s) book by Costin and Phipps called 'Racing
and sports car chassis design'. This is a rare work and I'm not selling
mine, even to someone quite as stellar as old Andrew.
The second book has to be one of Alan Staniforth's books, although his
original book about the design and construction of the original
'Terrapin' (a Mini-powered clubmans racing car) is also very rare. (And
ditto about me selling my copy of that as well).
The last one is the flawed, but interesting book by Ron Champion, that
started off the whole 'Locost' Lotus7 lookalike saga. This one is
available in all Halfords stores as far as I can see.
