Same experience here - Dyson have built in obsolescense - they break down,
also they look dirty, and they change the colours to make them look "last
year".

Our old Panasonic MCE42 (IIRC) lasted about 10 yrs before we gave it to my
sister in law, we now have a small bosch cylinder (for about 4 yrs) as we
have hard floors now and few carpets.
