Problem is he wrote in Latin - too easy. Now Chaucer, in his Middle
English; I find that by using a mixture of modern English and Faroese,
I can read a good deal of what he writes. The rest I can imagine.

There are some wonderful Norse tales too, if you want to
get *really* modern:-)
Iain

I have most of the sagas in my bookshelves. Much more imaginative
than the bible, I find.

I *do* know what Jesse Harris And The Ferdinandos sound like.....

(Playing right now and it's gonna have to perk up a bit to stay on!!)

OK, track 3 is getting a wee bit better....

OK, forget that - I found the *gem* in the pile (so far):

Holy Sons - 'I Want To Live A Peaceful Life'

*Exceptional* and very *real*!! (Well, it is on my LW2A3!! ;-)

I wuz having a little drowse to it just now (as you do*) and it had me out
of my bloody skin!! For a moment, I thought I was *surrounded* by people at
one stage!!

*What...?? I ain't getting anything like 6 hours sleep these last few nights
and I gotta go do compost shredding in a while, while the sun's so nice!!

Done me weeding, had me baked trout. Feet up for an hour and watch
Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately with Jeremy Brett mincing about like
Lionel Blair, but there you go.

Not really mine either (I prefer lieder...) but the album is a quite
exciting sound experience - very acoustic, very real ans ambient.

Bugger that. I *hate* the telly on during the day - drives me nuts when swim
flicks it on. (Other than the news, I never watch it anyway!)

Did he (LB) get his dog back? I saw him *on the telly* (musta been news or
local news) very upset about his dog which appears to have been snatched a
few days back! Poor sod, I felt very sorry for him!

Never mind. Send him round to Keith's :-)

???

Yesterday's acquistions - 10 CDs and 3 DVDs. How 'analogue' is that?

Anyway, don't send that **** round here - sticks 9p a pack on my ciggies
and
thinks 50 quid is going to deter Middle England from spending 75K on a 4
wheel drive!!??

I liked his generosity in cutting VED for band A vehicles to zero.
There are no vhicles on sale in the UK that meet that emission
criterion so it costs nothing, but it does make him look green!

They're all *******....

I've just had a call from my other half - she's in London and tells me that
King's Cross Underground had been arbitrarily closed due to overcrowding and
trains aren't stopping there!! This country's near meltdown and the *******
*still* keep letting them in!!

Nope, didn't hear about that. Not nice, though, to lose your dog - too
much like family.

I went into a record shop in Stevenage in (I think) 1974 and asked the

He came back out with the Brighton Rock album (vinyl, of course) which my
eldest son has to this day - it is 4 years older than he is!! :-)

I've just realised I still think of Queen as a "new" band. U2 have
barely appeared on the radar yet. Scary...

d

You think you got problems?
I have just reached Willem de Fesch (1687-1761)

So much music, so little time:-)

Iain

But have you heard of the new girl writer who just started? Hildegard
of Bingen is her name.

Yep, got some of her stuff - after all, she's about my age.......
