Here also is the above-mentioned tuner - found this pic while I was

for the pic of the Sony!

Now thats what I call a tuner)

Pity it's been made obsolete by the audio feeds on Freeview :-)

See below....

Listen old son.. Let me tell and educate you.. that tuner is one of the
best in the world, ever!.

I've tried to blag it off Pat a few times now, but he ain't listening!! :-)

See it here (extreme bottom of the pic) in an even more cramped location
than my own listening kiosk. Note also the weedy little speakers he's got on
it!!

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/cramped.JPG

Needless to say, he's running it off a Halo in the loft an' all!!

Its only limitation is what the broadcasters supply it with.

It will **** on DAB..well it would, but its too refined to do that!....

I am in a postion now to swap between FM/DAB/Freeview with single button
presses on the one zapper - the other day Radio 2 was at apparently
identical loudeness and there was *no discernable difference* between DAB
and Freeview. (Not the case with the other stations I've got
'preselected'!!) I gave the zapper to Swim to switch between them and she
actually picked the DAB setting (without knowing which was which, due to the
tiny lettering on the zapper!! ;-). FM came in so large it was out of the
equation and needed two jabs of attenuation to get the level down,
whereafter Swim picked it for having 'better space'...!!??

(SS amp on firewood horns - clearer than most people's systems I'd
wager.....)

As I type, I'm listening to Classic *FM* on DAB, IYSWIM...!!! :-)

Nope - I gave the zapper to Swim showed her which two buttons to press and
said 'pick the best one'!!

(Before you mention it - the kit is considered supremely *clear* by all
who've heard it!!)

So you reckon that Radio 2 on DAB is "no discernible difference" to 3
view at 192 K ?.....
