Strange innit? Here in England we are quite happy to offer Scotland
support in football (as well as the mountains of cash we Londoners
send north of the border every year). It really is a pity that this
isn't reciprocated - we've never done anything unpleasant to Scotland
that merited such poisonous racism as we receive.
OK, I know what you posted was tongue in cheek, but you couldn't have
said it if there weren't a core of truth at the heart of it.

There is a lot more truth to it than most people realise. I've lived in the
Highlands for 23 years but still have an English accent. Racism toward the
English is rife here and in many of the other locally inbred Highland
villages. Local police and the Councils turn a collective blind eye to it
therefore its officially never acknowledged. Oddly enough they generally
leave the Blacks alone. The English are still blamed for events that
happened many hundreds of years ago :-( even for the Clearances, which was
Scot against Scot, but they still can't get their heads around that one!.
I'm writing a book when I leave here as I have collected a sizeable amount
of evidence in 23 years here, you really wouldn't believe what they get up
to against the incomers..the 'White Settlers' from south of the border...
and their property. They get their kicks from your reaction (like any bully)
and don't like being ignored...which is the best policy regardless of the
damage.
Why don't I leave? because I'm not letting small minded vicious racists get
their own way. I work unpaid for the greater community here, see
www.hiradio.co.uk and I enjoy the scenery very much, the air and the
friendship of many Scottish people..but I have learnt to be very wary of the
villagers who never travel.
