there are three drivers, two base, one trebble, they are bi-wired.

Im guessing they are 2 way?

I was actually angling on the number of drivers but hadn't thought that
there might be two bass units. If they were two-driver boxes, and both
drivers had gone silent, the fault might not have been with the speaker.
However, I assume you're getting something out of the other bass driver -
which strongly suggests that the problem is with the speaker.

one speaker is fine, one has only the top driver working, the tweeter and
the bottom drivers are dead. You think both drivers would die at the same
time? Or crossover issue?
