SL1310 any good?

Yes, but at what price? If you have an eBay auction in mind, post a link
here - no-one here's going to compete with you and will serve as a
'notice
of intent' (ie 'bagsy' it).

I admire your faith

I don't think ukra's a place to worry about too much *vinyl
competition*...!!! ;-)

This one claims a clean lid (desirable and not
always available) and 'excellent condition' - it would certainly do me
from
'eBay appearances' and I would definitely bid on it:

Thats the one!

Right, well look sharp - email the Seller and ask him if he'll end the
auction with a 'Collect For Cash/Buy It Now' and go and collect it (you got
12 quid for the petrol) - he can only tell you to **** off, but it's a
couple of days in with no bids and he'll be sweating a bit!! I'd try and get
it for a nifty fifty and you never know, he might throw in some other bits
and bobs or have summat else of interest to get rid of..??

If you do collect it, lift the platter off (spindle might need a tap with a
bit of wood to free it off) and don't let the lid chafe on the chassis or it
will polish the corners all shiny - put a bit of cloth under the lid or take
it off completely!

I'm trying very hard not to see this one atm:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

....otherwise my lazybones auto/semiauto's down the tubes, but I can't help
wondering what one of these would be like with my carbon fibre tonearm and
MC200 on it....???

Tell him he's put that SME mount in all wrong. The axis of the slot
should point at the spindle.

And pull the counterweight off and tie the tonearm down with a sandwich bag
tie, I should have added.....

Thanks for info. I've put in an offer for cash on collection. We'll see
what happens!

Further info:

I've had my eye on this deck:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

....which looks like the Seller bought it a week or so ago:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...15002497 5426

....and has ripped the SME arm off it (they do that) and looking to make a
bit of profit on it as well as (presumably) on the arm elsewhere? Note the
fuller description on the first auction says 'lightly scratched lid'!
Needless to say that's me out at the price and I'm tempted to say keep your
offer tight and 'take it or leave it' - I think the price of these decks is
depressed atm and there's no need to go overboard, there's always another
one just around the corner!
