Huh? The hood of my car is welded shut; that's because it isn't a
convertible - where's the problem?

What hood, then?

If you want to be smart-ass, at least come up with a possible one :-)

Sorry, no idea what this question means.

It didn't have a question mark at the end :-)

It didn't? "What hood, then?" certainly looks like it has a question
mark - my mistake.

You were commenting to my post, not the original one.

You REALLY don't know the colonials call the car bonnet a hood? Or
that you non-convertible doesn't have a hood at all? C'mon :-)

Of course I was commenting on your post - otherwise I would not have
replied to it.

Yup - I do. But as this is a UK news group, I decided to play the UK
vocabulary card. If I were in a US group, I would always call the
bonnet the hood, just out of good manners.

Oh right. When you said:"Sorry, no idea what this question means" you
were lying for effect. Understood.

No, that was the literal truth. I have absolutely no idea what "What
hood then?" means, particularly in context.

Not lame. English is the language of this group, not American. Deal
with it.
