Default Denon micro system speaker upgrade

I'm quite disappointed with my Denon DM33 microsystems standard speakers.
Lovely and crisp, but NO bass at all. Well not much.

My question is: Is it worth while upgrading the speakers?

Richer sounds have some Kef floorstanders for only £89 and Mordaunt Shorts
for £150 (Can't remember models, but can find out if it's useful).

Don't want too much bass, just a more balanced sound.

Would a subwoofer with standard speakers be better? Don't want to upset
neighbors though and don't want loads of bass at expense of clarity.

Is the Denons performance the weakest link? IE will better spekers not
improve things much?

Is the Denon 22W up to it?

Sorry - too many questions! ANy opinions or advice will be greatly
appreciated.

Cheers!
