Default Studio Furniture

I want to have some custom designed studio furniture built. Nothing fancy,
just something to take my AKAI DPS24 and a pair of matching mobile racks.
I'll need a shelf above the AKAI for an LCD monitor, and shelves above the
rack for monitors.

I have already made contact with www.studioracks.co.uk who seem very capable
but I was wondering if there are any similar companies?

Cheers

Canford Audio used to do custom studio furniture, but possibly larger
projects only.

Yes I think you are right. I have found several that will do larger projects
but only the one that is happy to do the smaller ones.

Have you tried a local joiner or cabinetmaker?

I had thought of that but I suspect I would have to educate them into the
mysteries of 19 inch racks and so forth so that is not my preferred option.

My former employer Preco does small studio furniture from a company
called Bidezign. Look up www.preco.co.uk

They are happy to supply anything from a table upwards.

So nothing close to the ground than about three feet, then? ;-)

So what's mysterious about "I want to put something 19" wide in here"?
And he'll build it to actually fit your space.

Consider having several wooden shelves big enough to take a 19" unit.
Maybe a modular shelf system to allow different heights. There's
nothing sacroscant about using those rack ears in a fixed
installation, or about having everything crammed as close together as
possible.

I checked out their site and selected Bidezign - I got a message 'There are
no products in this category'.

Well, I've actually built my own wooden 19 inch racks and believe me it's a
tad more complex than that.

You miss my point. It doesn't have to be a wooden rack. Just
shelving units big enough to take the gear. They don't need to be
bolted in.

Ah! I suppose that means that their web site hasn't included the
individual items. I suggest you give then a call on Tuesday.
