**Here are my original words:

" * Bose products are rarely available at *genuine* discount prices."

And here's some more of them:

** So what ??

You don't need to * keep on * proving what a asinine ****wit you are -
Laurence.

We are all painfully aware of that already.

You're wriggling now. "Rarely", "implies". No hard facts.

It would be foolish of me to state that they are *never* available at
genuine discount prices. Bose often run 'special deals' where
consumers can purchase a Bose product and obtain a second Bose product
for 'free'. Such diso****ing occurs across an entire region, however.

I don't like Bose and their marketing lies either. But let's keep it
real.

So what? Neither were (are?) BMW car in the UK and Volvo was in trouble
recently for trying to prevent UK buyers getting cars at mainland Europe
prices. There's been many other instances recently of different RSM
practices that I haven't bothered to remember them (supermarket chains
mostly) - it goes on all the time!

Bitching about a company like Bose because it is successful is a bit
queer, in my book...

Envy?

Yeah, sure. You're cornered, so you get abusive. Again. Boring.

Now, back to the plot. Just WHAT are you telling us about Bose and
their commercial sins? Is "ANY company employing such practices
is violating several laws in several places" relevant to anything you
can definitely tell us about Bose?

Is this more gay-bashing? Only permissible if you're Australian you
know, old man.

Envy?

The odd thing is that Dr. Bose IS an engineer, and an innotative one.
Compare him with Ray Kurzweil. Who, had he been better with money,
might now be making lots of it diluting his real achievements into
expensive consumer toys, instead of perpetually looking for someone to
rescue his company financially so he can continue making his
excellent, in-demand but quirky instruments.

It always makes me smile when I see people like Bose (Bill Gates et al)
being bashed by the little people for their success. AFAIAA, there
aren't many successful companies/brands that haven't had to be a bit
smart and pull a few strokes, somewhere along the line. One of the
biggest in terms of global sales that comes to mind will be that of
Suzuki whose huge success in two-stokes a few years back can be directly
attributed to their successful poaching of a certain, famous engineer
and designer from an Eastern European manufacturer - effectively
consigning that manufacturer to certain doom! (Names elude me atm, but
it is early in the week - MZ??)

My experience of Bose is limited to to almost certainly having Bose
speakers in a number of cars in the past and a nicle 'slimline' 4 way AV
centre speaker which employed the Bose form of backhorn loading and
which sounded really quite good. In fact, I wish I had it back again,
having noticed ****ty/muffled dialogue with a lot of movies these days,
I'm now faced with the prospect of heaving a bloody great B&W centre
speaker into the equation somehow - having got away with no centre
speaker for a while!

I haven't seen any posts from secret agents of the Bose marketing department
on Usenet recently. Have they given up?

**Nope. Disgust.

The esteem I hold Bose in is pretty much on par with McDonalds. Both
companies market crap. At least McDonalds are not gouging consumers with
nonsensically high prices.

**Dream on. At least where I live, Australia is a very progressive society.
Far more so than you clearly imagine.

Envy?

**Nope. Bose hung his hat on a completely discredited theory about bouncing
sound all over the room. He marketed it cleverly and made a bundle. Since
that time, he has been knocking off other people's work (KEF, Prof Bailey,
et al), calling it by a new name, patenting the stuff and making yet more
cash from gullible consumers.
