Hi Everyone,

I hope that the link below works, usually whenever I try links they become
disjointed.

My question is this. I want to put my records onto my computer then transfer
them onto CD's as a backup.

I don't want to go to the expense of purchasing a USB Record Deck so I was
thinking that one of the following items may do the job.

Has anyone every used one of these...? and if so, what format will it save
audio files into please.

I got the VideoXpress similar unit by ADSTech from Expensive World -
think it was £17.99 - and I've done five of the six Michael Wood - Story
of India progs from my PVR with no problem.

Like anything else much of it is down to the quality of the software
that comes with it. The package that came with this one is not the most
obviously easy prog to use (I have a suspicion the original was French)
but it does the job.

If you've got it already captured on your PVR, why not just burn a DVD-RW
and rip that with your DVD drive and appropriate software on your PC?

On a different note, I'm trying to find something that will convert 60Hz
footage to 50Hz on the fly, since at the moment I can put clips online of 50Hz
games, but not 60Hz ones as the DVD recorder just says 'NTSC' and goes green,
and the TiVo just ignores it, as if there's no source.

This is a 50Hz clip, btw (which amused me, the way things turned out)

If you've got a normal sound card or intgrated audio on your computer (as
almost all do these days) and you have a record player and amplifier that
you can play your records on, then all the hardware you need is a phono to
3.5mm stero jack lead.

Connect the signal from the "tape out" sockets on your amp to the "line in"
socket on your computer via this lead and you are away. You will need some
software, Audacity does the job, and it's free.
