It's an external mount folded dipole type with F-type connector on the
aerial. Complete with wall mounting and 10m cable.

Why on earth did they decide on the F-type connector for DAB aerials, it
is a total pain to connect and is a matter of trial and error to get a
good connection why didn't they go for BNC?

BNC is a right pain to put on outside in the cold with frozen fingers.

F isn't that bad..

From experience, F is a right pain to work with outside in the cold
with frozen fingers, especially if the threads don't want to engage.

Can't say I've had any problems..perhaps thats cos i's got big mitts;!..

They are bloomin awkward though.

There's one on the back of my cable modem. I know it's awkward and I
know the cable needs to be exactly aligned, but I have to connect it by
feel (mounted up on the wall in reach but out of sight), and every time,
I end up faffing about for five minutes or so. Seems you can wind the
thing round happily for ages, thinking it's tightening when in reality
the threads aren't engaged at all.

Regards,

Simonm.
