Default Google glitch in browser

Can anyone help with this - I'm on Google groups and in Firefox and
Safari (I'm on a Mac) I get a sidebar down thew left which obscures
the first part of the posts. Anybody had this and know of a fix?
Happens on all groups, not just this.

Clearly just a Mac problem. Firefox has no sidebar on a PC.

Nope.

I get it in Firefox when I use Google Groups at work on a PC. I haven't
tried IE but it looks like it would not depend on the browser, though
I'm not sure.

It is very annoying. Clearly Google haven't bothered testing it
properly.

It completely obscures the top 2 or 3 posts on a page at the top left.

What does it look like? I have a clear screen. I'm using Adblock +
with my Firefox - could it be an ad window that isn't being
suppressed?

If you'd just upgraded to Snow Leopard you'd have mentioned it, of
course?

Why might that make a difference?

Because I'm seeing reports (particularly on the Sibelius forum) of
various things not quite working properly after installing SL. Partly,
we're told, because Apple made a few last-minute changes.

All this will be sorted out, I'm sure. But maybe some of these issues
are currently affecting FireFox.

Perhaps - hadn't noticed anything affecting Firefox though. Reports I've
seen relate to 32/64 bittedness.
