Default New software for examining WAV files

Hi,

I have recently started writing Linux versions of the software I use to
examine or process LPCM WAV files. I am in the process of making these
available for anyone who wants to be able to do similar examinations in a
comparable way. The Linux softare (and RISC OS equivalents) is linked to
the page at

http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/software/index.html

At present only a few of the programs are available. But I will be adding
some other programs as and when I get the time to produce the Linux
versions.

Although written for Linux and ROX, they contain the source code (in 'C')
and you are welcome to use this for other purposes or on other operating
systems.

As they stand, the programs should work with basic LPCM WAV files with 16
or 24 bits per samplke and sample rates up to 192k/sec.

Slainte,

Jim

Thanks, Jim. Some more toys to play with. ;-)

Just to let people know that I have now added the ROX Linux version of 'WAV
Cleaner' to the software at

http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/software/index.html

This lets the user generate a 'cleaned' version of LPCM WAV files. It
removes extra tags or chunks of metadata to produce a copy with the same
sound data payload with with a simple 44-byte header. So permits the user
to use the other WAV programs with sound files like BWF (Broadcast Wave
File) WAV type.

Slainte,

Jim
