Hitachi is actually a conglomerate of sorts. The cassette machine is a
product of a member of that conglomerate.

That all said, you may find that Hitachi no longer sells replacement
parts, and you may have to find a generic equivalent.

Yes, Maxell is a Hitachi brand.

In the US I most frequently see the Hitachi brand on power tools for sale.
That tells you that I spend much more time in home improvement superstores
than audio salons. ;-)
