Default Beringer sound card on usb issue

As has already been explained: The problem is probably with your OS or
choice of user software. The Behringer USB device doesn't have a USB
control over its levels. It has no software "line level control" so far as
I know. The one I tested showed no sign of one.

Nor should any 'driver' be needed if your OS can cope with the standard USB
Audio Class 1. But I have no idea if XP supports Class 1 because I don't
use it. Someone else would have to comment on that.

No the issue is that the screenreader I'm using is ok on the internal
sound card but is far below any usable level on the device and this goes
for system sounds as well. It seems to me that there is no ability on
the current control panel to alter all of this for the new hardware. I
don't use Audacity aas I have a registered copy of Goldwave which I find
works better for me. I had expected it to work like a cheap sound card I
have from creative where when you plug it in, it downloads drivers and
the just works. Sadly the creative is only really meant for output and
only has a mono input. The Beringer surely should work the same way as
its line level output. Obviously something is restricting it tht i
cannot control.
