Default Amps and stuff...

Firstly Ill say I'm new to this, so go easy on me...

I really need to get a 4 channel amp to get the most out of my speakers, but
need a little help first.

My current Head Unit JVC KD-SH99R (I think) only has 4 regular speaker
outputs to connect straight to speakers. But, in the manual it says that the
built-in amp in the head unit, can be switched off if you connect to an
external amp. But I though you needed a direct connection with RCA cables
from the Head Unit to the Amp.

So is it possible to connect this Head Unit to an Amp, or do I need a new
HU?

Thanks

That's pretty simple just look in the back of your head unit and see if you
can plug in RCA's ... if not than it's up to you what to do then. When I
shopped for a head unit I just made sure it had them, so it went easier in
the future.

If you shop around, you should find an amp with High Level Input.

You just hook up your current speaker wires to this instead of using an RCA.

But I recomend getting hold of a new head unit with RCA....
