you stated that you have no test equipment other than your DVM so you have not
the slightest idea of the quality of your valve amps.

Untrue:
1) I have ears which are highly musically trained. I have a VERY GOOD IDEA of
how my amps sound, and also other equipment that I have heard in homes, demos,
shows etc etc etc etc over 35 years of playing and listening to music.
2) I have friends with measuring equipent and have regularly had various amps
measured

A professional musician? OK - all is explained and all is forgiven - early
onset deafness is what this is all about.

Ha Ha.
I will listen to a conductor telling me what sounds musical. I will listen to a
composer telling me what sounds musical. The day I need to listen to the
opinion of someone with a machine for measuring widgets on what is musical is
the day Hell freezes over.

The conductor, composer and musicians HAVE told you what sounds
musical. They put it on the CD. Now it is up to the reproduction
equipment to reproduce that without messing it up with sounds of its
own.

Understand yet?

I understood this 35 years ago. The idea that good sound is created by musical
minds seems quite new to you. Refer to my post on Keith Jarrett studio
recordings by Jan Erik Kongshaug.

And you must understand

You see, here we are again with all that condescending patronising teachery
stuff that lurks just under the surface. Have I asked you how to build a valve
amp circuit? Then stop lecturing me.

what is another way to linearise a valve amp? I genuinely don't know what it
is.

Try "Use more linear valves" and refer to the four references I gave you on
this.

Then how come you want to screw it up with a distorting, phase shifting,
frequency-coloured valve amp?

We all know what rubbish to expect from card carrying mambers of the "all valve
amps are inadequate" club. You're not adding anything to the stale heap of
prejudices that were out of date before King Alfred burned the cakes.
