Default Ebay Query - Serial No.s Of Equipment ?

Hi,

as always with e-bay look at the persons feedback rating, click on it and see what other
buyers have said about them. If they have numerous negatives then obviously you should
avoid. If they have no negatives in the last 6 months and lots of possitive comments for
you to read then you can trust them. I always read the feedback before I think of bidding
on an item.

I contacted an Ebay seller to request the serial no. of an item of
equipment, and they said they were unwilling to reveal the no. due to the
possibility of people trying to disguise stolen equipment - does this seem
like a legitimate concern, or should I read this as a warning signal, and
avoid placing a bid.

TIA.

I have contacted numerous sellers and never had anyone refuse to give the
serial numbers before, so I have decided to 'walk away'.

Thanks for all the replies.
