Listen old son.. Let me tell and educate you.. that tuner is one of the best in the world, ever!. I've tried to blag it off Pat a few times now, but he ain't listening!! :-) See it here (extreme bottom of the pic) in an even more cramped location than my own listening kiosk. Note also the weedy little speakers he's got on it!! http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/cramped.JPG Needless to say, he's running it off a Halo in the loft an' all!! One is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPEECHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't call him Pat the **** for nothing!! ;-) Its only limitation is what the broadcasters supply it with. It will **** on DAB..well it would, but its too refined to do that!.... I am in a postion now to swap between FM/DAB/Freeview with single button presses on the one zapper - the other day Radio 2 was at apparently identical loudeness and there was *no discernable difference* between DAB and Freeview. You surprise me there... Nope - I gave the zapper to Swim showed her which two buttons to press and said 'pick the best one'!! (Before you mention it - the kit is considered supremely *clear* by all who've heard it!!) So you reckon that Radio 2 on DAB is "no discernible difference" to 3 view at 192 K ?..... Not on that occasion, at any rate - I haven't tuned to R2 since..... Now for another looksee at the shiny new gadgets!! :-) |

Mind you I've only worked through all the speakers and most of the amps so far. Each large "thumbnail" links to a much more extensive indiviual page. Probably find the later Sony CD in the CD section - I haven't looked at them. http://tinyurl.com/qerhz and I since have:- it isn't there. Nevertheless ... And I forgot to mention the turntables. Also :=})) Here's a link to the main index: http://tinyurl.com/l6bu2 -- Ross Matheson -- "We do not fear being called meticulous, inclining as we do to the view that only the exhaustive can be truly interesting." - Thomas Man, 'The Magic Mountain'. -- |

I like this bit about the L-O2T "The effort which holds down Luther's adverse effect had done thoroughly" Actually the more I read it the more I appreciate it! 7-s cap etc.& much more! Maker of transmitters & receivers. I can see how it appeals and may be super (lative!) All the "Japlish" (or maybe 'Engjap'?) starts to make sense ... "Nature clearing being proud of sound remains in impression." RdM;- PS: But what really intrigues is the origin of the translated "the potato"... Shades of elsewhere discussions on "potato amps" (ie simple SET etc!) |

"Phil Allison" wrote in message ... "Don Prick" Don't forget all those early music orchestras that tune to 415 and a whole slew of other frequencies in that vicinity. Luckily there are no pianos involved - just harpsichords. ** 415 is exactly one semitone below 440. Play that on a chromatic instrument without retuning. Most proferssional woodwind and brass players can transpose prima vista. A semitone is quite easy. Iain |
