Wake TF up Plowie - I've swapped Fostex for Visaton in 3 pairs of

Never mind the milkman or even the 5 or 6 subscribers *here* that have
heard the 'firewood horns' at various stages of their evolution - as I
said recently, it's what pleases me that counts at the end of the day,
but I do take heed from what others say as they very often *can* see
the wood for the trees.

They seem to give you pleasure for a few minutes before you move on to
your latest fad...

Fad? Interesting word.....

Lemme see....

I try 20,000 SS amps and didn't even know I was looking for valves 'til I
got a valve amp, then I try a few different types and find I prefer triodes,
which leads me to try out firewood horns (high sensitivity/fullrange
drivers/no crossovers) and I'm now on my 6th pair and am trying out
different drivers...

How faddish is that?

Especially when you factor in that I've played/preferred vinyl since Day 1
of 'getting into hifi' (and don't care if I never again hear another CD)
and, although I know ****-all about electronics and I'm no carpenter, I've
bust my arse to build some of the kit I wanted to try - earlier this evening
I was listening to some stunning music on kit 75% of which I built myself.

(Fekkin' hard work some of these fads....!!)

I think you just wanna poke me in the eye, Plowie....

Now, here's your chance - I'm open to suggestion (always), what is your
own recommendation for speakers?

Not worth even mentioning to you. But lets just say I moved on from horns
and Lowthers 40 years ago.

You did?

Jeez, I'm champing at the bit now!! What's the big secret - what did you
move on to??

(Could be a new fad to try..... :-)

Very, considering the time scale. And each one appears to be perfection to
your ears just after you've got it. So I'm not quite clear why you
continue to search for 'better'.

Especially when you factor in that I've played/preferred vinyl since Day

No need for me to do that - you do it nicely to yourself. You obviously
are searching for something which sure as eggs are eggs isn't natural
sound reproduction.

Now, here's your chance - I'm open to suggestion (always), what is
your own recommendation for speakers?

As I say no point. My views (and pretty well the rest of the world ;-))
are so much apart from yours.
