Default Rogers kit any good?

I'm being offered:

Roger A75 Panthera Amp
Rogers T75 Tuner

in a proposed swap - is this kit any good? If so, any idea of what it would
be worth, assuming fully serviceable and reasonably smart condition?

(I've no experience of it myself, but I have an inkling the tuner's fairly
well regarded??)

TIA

Ooh, while I'm on - did I mention me Lowthers have turned up just now?

So that's no more 'Oi You!' from you lot - it'll be *Mister* Oi You from now
on.....

;-)

Just been reading the instructions - *love* this bit:

"Persons fitted with heart pacemakers are advised not to handle these drive
units."

:-))

(No wonder most Yanks over 35 don't like 'em....!! ;-)

That's almost as good as the phrase "Beware - danger of amputation!" I saw
in connection with some seriously strong industrial magnets on the telly one
time!!

Did you read the reviews on the web site though? Even funnier -
especially this gem:

"Daniel has an equipment rack which is filled with good sounding
components, but there's one piece which deserves more attention: his
Behringer Ultracurve Equalizer. We used it extensively during the
listening sessions, and it was a very valuable tool. One very
important trait is that it does not alter sound in any way. It is
impossible to tell wether it is in the signal chain or not. "

More important question, now: What colour?

Errrmmmm.... Lowther.

Oh, and the pacemaker thing? You put them into test mode with a
permanent magnet.

Does your use of *bold* mean you will be *shouting* from now on, after
you decide the sound lowthers make is normal?

The A75 Mk 2 (don't know about the "Panthera" bit) was priced at £
169.50 + VAT in 1979. A Quad 303/33 pair with the same output power (45
W per ch) was £ 207.00 + VAT.

A Cambridge Audio P80 was £ 199 + VAT and an Armstrong 621 was £ 120 + VAT.

This may give you some idea where the Rogers fitted into the scheme of
things at the time.

At a guess, the amp is worth £ 50-£ 80 and the tuner £ 30-£50 on Ebay.

Oh I already know how it goes...

Moira - 'Best sound yet!'

Pat - 'Wow!! They don't make stuff like they used to! Cor, blimey, when I
wuz a lad they larfed at the Japs &c. &c.!! (The EX3s are 2 years old....)

Shiny Nigel (if he ever shows up again) - '*Brilliant*!!' (I've got a Diana
Ross album waiting....)

Strangers - Stunned silence...

Fellow 'audio enthusiast vistors' - Screwed up faces and feint praise...

And the best bit is - they only gotta please me! ;-)

(If they don't they'll be back on eBay for a wunnah more than I paid for
them. The only person I fear is Serge, if he got to hear them and thought
they were ****e, he wouldn't say so - he wouldn't need to...!! :-)

OK Serge - thanks for that. Pretty much what I expected! ('Interesting
