I think you're dramatising a little. I wouldn't know what rumble sounds
like (I've forgotten, it's been that long), and surface noise (apart, of
course, from clicks and pops) is just not an issue at my normal
listening levels. Even clicks and things just don't bother me. I
understand your position - it's your experience after all - but it
hardly sums up the listening experience of everyone.

My bugbear is wow - I've bought my way out of that one.
