Default Sound recording software for old PC?

wrote:
Hello

I've got an old PC with Windows 95 that I would like to use for
converting a load of old cassettes to MP3 format, and I need some
sound recording software. It doesn't need to do anything clever at
all - just start recording and then stop, saving a wav file. Can
anyone recommend anything please?

Try Audiograbber
http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

And CDex (Records from analogue input)
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net

Both freeware and versions work on Windows 95. You may find a slow
processor makes MP3 encoding kind of slow though, and electricity is
getting expensive ... ;-)
