Default Your Music On CD

For most people a good quality record deck is - as near as damn it - CD

Besides, I think a remastered LP can *sound* better than played on a good
turntable, given proper digital filtering to remove hiss and crackle.

Using software to remove hiss'n'crackle sucks. I find the artifacts
simply unacceptable. IMNSHO, the best solution is a wet/vacuum record
cleaner and a quality turntable and stylus. Playing the recording
instead of the actual record is the most important step to having a
record in excellant shape and thus excellant recordings.

I have in some cases used s/w, but it's only for other people's records.
If any of my records got that bad, I would have replaced it long ago.
